7.2  Inspection Period. Purchaser shall have thirty (30) forty-five (45) days following the Effective Date (the "Inspection Period") to conduct such investigations of the Property as Purchaser deems necessary, including a Phase I environmental site assessment. Purchaser may terminate this Agreement for any reason or no reason by written notice to Seller delivered prior to the expiration of the Inspection Period, in which event the Earnest Money shall be returned to Purchaser.

7.3  Title Objections. Purchaser shall deliver any objections to title or survey matters no later than ten (10) days prior to the expiration of the Inspection Period. Seller shall have five (5) business days to respond; Seller's failure to respond shall be deemed an election not to cure.

What a Fredline redline looks like. Every change marked word by word, in the document's own fonts. A clause that moved is shown as a move, not as a deletion and an insertion.

Your documents never leave your computer.

There is no upload. The comparison runs on your machine, in the browser or the app. We have no server that could see a draft, so there is nothing to subpoena, breach or train on.

What it actually does

A redline you can trust. In seconds.

Opens in Word like any other document

Fredline writes the same kind of file Word writes, so the redline opens, prints and forwards like a document you drafted yourself. Send it as a marked-up copy, or as genuine Track Changes the other side can accept and reject one at a time. Accept them all and you have their draft, word for word; reject them all and you have yours. Every release is tested for exactly that.

The whole document, not just the body

Tables, cell by cell. Footnotes and endnotes. Headers and footers. Comments carried through. A draft already full of someone's tracked changes is compared as it actually reads, or with their changes kept under their own names. Bold defined terms stay bold, and nothing else inherits the bold.

At home on a Mac and iPhone. Fine anywhere else.

On the Mac, select two files and Fredline them from the right-click menu. On iPhone, share two attachments from Mail and step through the changes one at a time before you're back at your desk. On Windows, or any computer, drop the two drafts into fredline.app. Scanned PDFs are read on your device, so they never leave it either.

New: the summary page

Know what changed before you read a word.

Every redline now ends with a one-page summary: in the Word file, in the PDF, on the Mac, on iPhone and on the web. It is the page you would otherwise put together by hand before the call.

  • Every number, amount, percentage and date that changed, old next to new
  • Where the changes are, section by section, so you know what to read first
  • Changes counted by type: inserted, deleted, moved, tables, footnotes, headers
  • Who last saved each draft, and when

Litera Compare's summary report counts changes by type. Fredline's counts them too, then shows you the ones that matter.

The honest comparison

The only redline tool made for the Mac.

Litera and Draftable are capable tools, built for Windows and sold to firms on annual contracts. On a Mac or an iPad they work only through a browser or a Word add-in. Fredline was made for the Mac and iPhone first, and it runs in any browser on Windows too. Wherever you use it, your documents stay on your computer.

Competitor details from their public pricing, support and marketplace pages as of October 23, 2026. Draftable lists Mac support as coming late 2027. On a Mac or an iPad, Litera Compare runs inside Word through its Microsoft 365 add-in, which needs a Litera Compare Server license; its desktop app is for Windows. Word for iPhone and iPad has no Compare feature.

Why this exists

Built by a practicing lawyer. Used on real deals every week.

Fredline started because the tools law firms pay for don't run on a Mac, and the free one in Word turns a two-line change into a wall of red. Every fix in it came from a real contract on a real deadline: the footnote that broke the file, the defined term that lost its bold, the header nobody noticed had changed. It is the tool its author reaches for first, and it stays that way.
