Privacy Policy

The short version

Your documents never leave your computer. Fredline, LLC ("Fredline", "we", "us") does not see, receive or store them. There are no Fredline accounts, and the Fredline apps collect no data.

1. Your documents

Every comparison runs on your own device: in your web browser at fredline.app, or inside the Fredline app on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. No document, document content or comparison result is sent to us or to anyone else. We have no server that receives documents.

On iPhone and iPad, files you share to Fredline are copied into a private folder on your device that only Fredline can read, and are deleted once Fredline has opened them. Redlines you export are saved on your device until you share or delete them.

2. No accounts

Fredline has no sign-in and no user accounts, so we hold no names, email addresses or passwords.

3. Purchases

Fredline is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details, and Apple does not give us your name or contact details.

When you choose "Use Fredline on the web", the app copies your App Store purchase record to your clipboard so you can paste it into the web tool. The web tool checks it inside your browser and keeps it in that browser so the full version opens next time, unless you choose "Don't remember on this computer". It is not sent to us. You can remove it at any time with "Remove license".

4. The website

fredline.app is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site. We see only aggregate traffic counts from Cloudflare. The site uses no analytics scripts, no advertising and no tracking cookies. Your light or dark mode choice and any license you paste are kept in your browser's own storage and never leave it.

5. The apps

The Fredline apps from the App Store, for Mac, iPhone and iPad, contain no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services and make no network requests of their own. (The App Store itself checks your purchase with Apple.)

6. Children

Fredline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

7. Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date.
